HOUSEKEEPER AMBULATORY, SURGICAL SERVICES (FULL TIME)
About The Position
The Housekeeper performs specialized cleaning duties to disinfect ambulatory healthcare facilities, including restrooms, patient areas, exam rooms, procedure rooms, and specialty areas. The role maintains clean and sterile perioperative and procedural areas by following established cleaning protocols and strict infection-control and safety standards. Duties include terminal and routine cleaning, floor care, disinfection, waste handling, replenishing supplies, and maintaining cleaning equipment and storage areas. This is a full-time third-shift position at Ascension St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton, Wisconsin. The schedule is 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends. The stated pay range is $17.00 to $18.00 per hour, with a $1.50 third-shift differential and an additional $1.00 on weekends.
Requirements
- Previous healthcare experience is required.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- Previous surgical cleaning experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform terminal and routine cleaning of sterile areas according to established protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness in perioperative and sterile procedural areas.
- Follow infection-control and safety standards to maintain a sterile environment.
- Scrub and disinfect floors and surfaces in sterile and perioperative areas in compliance with infection-control guidelines.
- Disinfect surfaces using provided chemicals.
- Dust and polish furniture, fittings, vents, window sills, and ledges.
- Clean reception glass and entrance windows.
- Move chairs, stools, waste, linen and biohazardous bins, small wheeled equipment, scales, and other items to clean; return items to their recommended layout.
- Sweep, dust, mop, and vacuum floors, and perform carpet and upholstery spot cleaning.
- Collect and dispose of general trash and biohazardous waste, and routinely clean their containers.
- Replenish soap, sanitizer, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, and other supplies.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and storage areas in clean and orderly operating condition.
- Arm and disarm alarm systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
