About The Position

The Room Attendant is a key member of the hospitality team, responsible for maintaining cleanliness, order, and a welcoming atmosphere in guest rooms, public areas, and other designated spaces to support guest satisfaction and a positive guest experience. Duties include cleaning and tidying rooms to established standards; sanitizing bathrooms; dusting and wiping furniture and surfaces; restocking toiletries, towels, and linens; removing trash; and sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors. The role also involves reporting maintenance needs and lost items, interacting courteously with guests, and respecting guest privacy and security procedures. The work is primarily physical and takes place partly in an interior hotel environment with equipment and machines. It may involve exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dirt, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises. Employees must follow basic safety precautions and use applicable protective equipment. Physical requirements include extended standing and walking, climbing, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Clean and tidy guest rooms according to established standards, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and making beds.
Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including fixtures, surfaces, and amenities.
Dust and wipe down furniture, surfaces, and decorative items in guest rooms and public areas.
Restock toiletries, towels, linens, and other supplies in guest rooms.
Empty trash bins and replace liners in guest rooms and common areas.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in guest rooms, hallways, and public spaces.
Identify and report maintenance or repair needs to appropriate personnel.
Look for lost items in guest rooms and public areas and report them to the supervisor.
Interact professionally and courteously with guests and respond to requests and inquiries as needed.
Respect guests' privacy and maintain security by following established procedures.
Complete assigned rooms efficiently and organize housekeeping carts.
