About The Position

The Housekeeper/Janitor performs cleaning duties to maintain a clean environment throughout the Billings Clinic campus and branch locations. The position may involve cleaning one or more areas, including occupied and discharged patient rooms, isolation rooms, patient care areas, public access areas, waiting rooms, offices, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, and laundry areas. Duties also include moving furniture, equipment, and supplies; carpet cleaning; and other housekeeping tasks. The position may provide laundry services for specific units, coordinating daily service needs with departments and collecting, sorting, and weighing soiled laundry, linen, and garments. The employee folds, counts, stacks, and distributes clean laundry and linen garments. The role supports Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct, and service expectations, and maintains competency in relevant organizational, departmental, and outside agency standards for environmental, employee, and patient safety.

Responsibilities

Clean and service assigned areas throughout Billings Clinic.
Clean occupied and discharged patient rooms, isolation rooms, patient care areas, physician’s offices, surgery, dialysis, radiology, public access areas, waiting rooms, offices, stairwells, elevators, restrooms, and laundry areas as assigned.
Maintain floors by sweeping, mopping, stripping, finishing, buffing, and refinishing hard floor surfaces.
Shampoo carpets and furniture.
Remove trash and linen from assigned areas.
Wash windows, walls, vents, lights, and baseboards using appropriate disinfectants.
Dust and polish hard surfaces.
Move furniture and equipment within Billings Clinic and to off-site storage as necessary.
Change curtains and drapes as needed.
Deliver and replenish supplies as needed.
Coordinate daily laundry service needs with departments when assigned laundry services.
Collect, sort, and weigh soiled laundry, linen, and garments; fold, count, stack, and distribute clean laundry and linen garments.
Maintain competency in applicable organizational, departmental, and outside agency environmental, employee, and patient safety standards.
Identify needs and set goals for personal growth and development, and meet mandatory organizational and departmental requirements.
Support and model behaviors consistent with Billings Clinic’s mission, vision, values, code of business conduct, and service expectations.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet department or organizational needs.
