About The Position
Plum Creek Chicago is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Housekeeper/Janitor for its senior living community in Chicago, Illinois. The housekeeping team helps create a clean, safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for residents, families, visitors, and team members. This position maintains resident and community spaces and provides friendly, respectful service to the people who call Plum Creek Chicago home. The schedule is full-time, Sunday through Thursday, during daytime hours.
Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
- Dependable, organized, and committed to maintaining a clean and welcoming community.
- Ability to work Sunday through Thursday during daytime hours.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred.
- Senior living, healthcare, or hospitality experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain common areas, including hallways, restrooms, dining areas, and other community spaces.
- Perform routine cleaning, sanitizing, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and other housekeeping duties.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the community.
- Properly use, store, and maintain cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Monitor housekeeping supply inventory and communicate when additional supplies are needed.
- Identify and report maintenance, safety, or sanitation concerns to the appropriate team member.
- Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs as needed.
- Follow established infection control, safety, and cleaning procedures.
- Provide friendly, respectful, and professional service to residents, families, visitors, and team members.
- Assist with additional housekeeping or janitorial duties as assigned.
