About The Position

The Housekeeper I maintains a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors in a healthcare setting. The position performs cleaning tasks to keep facility areas sanitized and organized, supporting infection control and patient well-being. The Housekeeper I works with the healthcare team to help ensure the facility meets cleanliness standards. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are important to the role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and perform overhead lifting as needed.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing more than 50 lbs.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position; reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals under the ADA.

Nice To Haves

• Certification in infection control or related training.
• Experience using commercial cleaning equipment and chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning in patient rooms, restrooms, and common areas to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.
• Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and store them properly.
• Follow infection-control protocols and safety procedures to minimize risks.
• Promptly report maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel.
• Assist with organizing and stocking cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
