Housekeeper/Custodian
About The Position
The Housekeeper/Custodian helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients and staff. The role cleans and disinfects surfaces, manages waste, performs deep cleaning, replenishes supplies, prepares rooms for admissions and discharges, launders linens, and responds to custodial emergencies. The position also includes maintaining cleaning equipment, safely storing cleaning products, and reporting damage or safety hazards to the facilities team. Compensation ranges from $20 to $22 per hour, depending on education and experience. Pay within the range is based on skills, experience, education, market conditions, and internal equity.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of experience with environmental services.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect furniture, floors, windows, décor, and other surfaces using appropriate methods and products.
- Place proper safety signage, manage wet floors, and comply with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Empty trash bins and keep spaces tidy.
- Perform deep cleaning as needed.
- Replenish custodial and office supplies.
- Identify damage or needed repairs and report safety hazards to the facilities team.
- Clean and maintain custodial equipment, including vacuums and carpet cleaners.
- Assist with preparing rooms for admissions and discharges.
- Launder linens.
- Safely store and care for cleaning products.
- Respond to custodial emergencies, including spills and broken glass.
