About The Position

Visiting Angels of Albuquerque is hiring Housekeeper and Companion Caregivers to support senior adults and other home-care clients throughout the local area, including South Valley, Las Lunas, Belen, and Los Chavez. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client and may involve personal care, light housekeeping, companionship, and assistance with everyday activities. Caregivers must be prepared to respond to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond appropriately to medical emergencies.
Report health changes or unusual circumstances.
