About The Position

The Household Manager with Meal Prep will provide consistent, proactive support to a busy family living on a 10-acre property in rural Iowa. The household includes two young children, a home-based business, and demanding work schedules. One parent works remotely full-time, and the other runs a business and travels frequently during warmer months. The role is intended to become a reliable part of the household routine, helping keep daily responsibilities and household systems organized. It starts part-time, with the potential for additional hours and a broader scope as the family’s needs evolve. The position is 10–16 hours per week, with 10 hours guaranteed. Monday and Wednesday are preferred, generally as 8-hour shifts, though the schedule is flexible. Some evening availability may occasionally be needed as the relationship develops. Compensation is $28–$32 per hour, depending on experience, and the start date is ASAP. Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related errands. The role combines meal planning and preparation with household administration, organization, errands, vehicle coordination, pet care, and occasional family support. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, self-directed, trustworthy, dependable, and able to use judgment, adapt to changing priorities, and follow through without frequent instructions. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States, maintain a smoke-free environment, have reliable personal transportation, and be able to navigate stairs as part of regular daily tasks. A background check is required.
