About The Position

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) Household Manager & Family Assistant position with a focus on meal prep support. The role is designed for someone who can help maintain balance in a busy household, especially as the family grows with a grand-baby on the way. The employer is a single parent with a demanding job and needs support in managing household tasks, meal planning and preparation (focusing on plant-based, clean eating), home projects, vendor coordination, and general family support. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, flexible, patient, creative, and has a growth mindset, aiming to make a significant positive impact on the family's well-being.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems, including daily resets and preparing the home for cleaners.
  • Perform light tidying such as dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and prep for bulk pick-ups.
  • Assist with event, holiday, and guest preparation, as well as packing/unpacking for travel.
  • Coordinate furniture and interior design for room decorating projects.
  • Manage home maintenance tasks like changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors.
  • Plan and prepare healthy lunches and dinners 2-3 times per week, following dietary preferences (healthy, protein-forward, plant-based).
  • Collaborate on grocery shopping and maintain kitchen cleanup and inventory.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies, and manage household supply lists.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions.
  • Handle prescription, vitamin, and supplement refills and pick-ups.
  • Manage returns, dry cleaning, gift shopping, and mail/package handling.
  • Assist with washing, folding, organizing laundry, ironing, and special garment care.
  • Manage linen rotation and maintain tidy laundry areas.
  • Provide baby care support, including potential overnight feedings 2-3 nights per week after the baby arrives.
  • Provide pet care, including feeding, walking, and scheduling vet/grooming appointments.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance, fueling, cleaning, organizing family vehicles, and tracking registration/insurance.
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and landscapers, and coordinate repairs and obtain quotes.
  • Manage seasonal property maintenance and outdoor spaces.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of appliances and specific areas like the garage, mudroom, and entryway.
  • Clean humidifiers and air purifiers.
  • Organize and prep rooms, toys, and baby gear.
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics.
  • Manage calendars, including household schedules and appointments (doctor, dentist, therapist, etc.).
  • Track receipts and budget.
  • Coordinate events and appointments.
