About The Position

We are a lively and busy family that values maintaining an organized and welcoming home. With four kids—two older children (one in college and one graduating high school) and two younger kids (ages 14 and 16) who are with us every other week—we’re constantly juggling schedules, activities, and projects. Both parents work from home, so it’s important for us to keep things running smoothly. We’re looking for someone who can help with meal prep, ensuring we have healthy meals and snacks ready to go, and with family laundry, so everything stays neat and organized. Keeping the home tidy and organized is a top priority, as well as supporting us when we entertain or host events. Above all, we want to focus more on being present with each other as a family, and we need someone who will help make that possible by taking care of the day-to-day tasks. We also have an energetic puppy who adds a lot of joy to our home, and we’re excited to find someone who will be a reliable and caring presence in our household. We’re looking for someone who is not only competent but also organized, proactive, and able to handle multiple tasks with ease. You have a natural ability to communicate well and take initiative, and your strong attention to detail makes all the difference in keeping things running smoothly. You thrive in a structured environment but are also flexible enough to adapt as things evolve. Meal prep is something you enjoy—whether it’s planning or preparing healthy, family-friendly meals, you take pride in ensuring that meals are both nutritious and meet dietary needs (gluten-free, lactose-free). Your organizational skills go beyond the kitchen; you’ll also be responsible for creating simple, effective systems to keep our home organized and easy to maintain, from the pantry to the laundry room. Along with being highly self-sufficient, you bring warmth, approachability, and a calming presence to our busy home. You’ll engage with our kids in a kind, supportive way that encourages their independence and helps them take ownership of their tasks. Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems (fridge, pantry, etc.)
  • Daily resets and preparing the home for cleaners
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Seasonal clothing swaps for kids
  • Manage box breakdowns and returns
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event/holiday/guest prep
  • Packing/unpacking for travel
  • Indoor and outdoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Prepare 3-5 family dinners per week, including batch-prep (chop, marinate proteins, and prepare vegetables)
  • Batch prep breakfast and healthy snacks for the week (e.g., yogurt parfaits)
  • Ensure meals follow dietary restrictions (gluten-free, lactose-free)
  • Grocery shopping online or in-person, as needed
  • Kitchen cleanup and maintenance
  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Occasional ironing/steaming and special garment care (e.g., cashmere)
  • Occasional linen rotation
  • Maintain well-stocked and tidy laundry areas
  • Walk dog once a day (30 minutes)
  • Wash dog once a week
  • Schedule vet/grooming appointments
  • Occasional overnight dog sitting
  • Maintain pet supplies as needed
  • Restock pantry/fridge and manage running household supply lists
  • Oversee Amazon/Sam's Club deliveries and manage subscriptions
  • Handle mail, packages, and breakdown boxes
  • Manage returns
  • Schedule maintenance
  • Fueling/cleaning/organizing/detailed vehicles
  • Oversee cleaners, landscapers, and other service providers
  • Seasonal property maintenance, including plant care and outdoor space management
  • Awareness of family calendar (including household schedules)
  • Receipt/budget tracking for expenses incurred for House Manager purchases
  • Event and appointment coordination
  • Occasional pick-ups and drop-offs for kids
  • Assist with kid-related errands
  • Oversight of occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)
  • Refresh garage/mudroom/entry
  • Clean humidifiers/air purifiers
  • Organizational projects (fridge, pantry, seasonal items, storage)
