About The Position

We are an active, warm, and close-knit family of four looking for a Household Manager with a focus on meal preparation. Our household is busy with two school-aged children, and we need someone to help build structure and manage the details of our everyday life. The ideal candidate will be a trusted partner who can proactively anticipate needs, manage inventory and errands, and handle everyday upkeep. We value warmth, honesty, and a calm, capable presence, and we want someone who feels like part of the family. This is a part-time role, 20-30 hours per week, with a guaranteed 20 hours. The schedule is typically Monday-Thursday, 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with occasional Saturday availability requested for transportation and flexibility for back-up childcare or potential overnights with notice. The compensation is $30-$35 per hour, based on experience. The proposed start date is ASAP.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying (dishes, surfaces, high-traffic vacuuming).
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Prepare for events, holidays, and guests, including preparing the guest house.
  • Provide packing and unpacking support for family travel.
  • Perform routine upkeep such as replacing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries/sensors.
  • Manage running household supply lists and restock pantry, fridge, and household essentials.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (e.g., Amazon, Walmart).
  • Handle mail and package intake, returns, and box breakdown.
  • Handle gift shopping and coordination of birthday cards and family occasion logistics.
  • Plan and prepare dinner 3-4 times per week, ready to heat or eat.
  • Prep lunches three times per week for kids and parents.
  • Perform grocery shopping and pantry stocking.
  • Follow clean eating guidelines (organic whole foods).
  • Perform kitchen cleanup and maintenance after all meal prep.
  • Oversee and coordinate existing vendors (cleaners, lawn care, pest control, pool service, HVAC, landscaper).
  • Research, coordinate, and obtain quotes for repairs and new vendors, including identifying a handyman.
  • Conduct routine property walkthroughs to identify maintenance needs.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry.
  • Perform ironing, steaming, and special garment care.
  • Manage linen rotation (strip beds before cleaner days).
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area.
  • Provide occasional afternoon school pickups (3–6 PM).
  • Offer light supervision and homework help as needed.
  • Provide occasional overnight care when parents are traveling.
  • Handle kid-related errands and transportation to activities.
  • Provide occasional weekend tournament transportation (up to 2 hours away).
  • Schedule and accompany family vehicles to maintenance appointments.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Keep family vehicles fueled, clean, and organized.
  • Perform occasional deep cleans of areas not covered by regular cleaners (refrigerator, oven, baseboards).
  • Refresh and organize garage, mudroom, and entryway areas.
  • Change HVAC air filters quarterly.
  • Perform organizational projects (closets, pantry, filing, gear, storage areas).
  • Manage household and family calendar, including school schedules and appointments.
  • Coordinate events and appointments.
  • Track personal expenses using a dedicated card.
  • Support with personal email organization and inbox management.
  • Provide travel planning and logistics support.
  • Transport the family dog to the dog nanny when the family is traveling.
  • Provide occasional dog sitting, including administering daily morning medication.
  • Schedule and transport pets to vet and grooming appointments.
  • Refill the outdoor automated cat feeder as needed when the family is away.
  • Maintain all pet supplies (food, treats, and related items).
