About The Position

We are a busy, professional family with two young children seeking a proactive, thoughtful, and highly organized Household Manager & Family Assistant. This part-time role (10-12 hours/week, 2-3 days per week) will focus on streamlining household operations, maintaining organization, and providing administrative support to keep our home running smoothly. While we have childcare support, we need a team player who can manage logistics, schedules, and daily details. The ideal candidate is proactive, anticipates needs, takes ownership of tasks, and communicates clearly. We value routine, organization, and a calm approach to managing multiple responsibilities. This role involves daily resets, light tidying, managing errands, administrative tasks, and supporting family needs.

Requirements

  • Maintain a smoke-free environment.
  • Reliable transportation (valid driver’s license and ability to use family vehicle preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems.
  • Perform daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners.
  • Light tidying, including surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, and occasional dishes.
  • Pack and unpack for travel, including organizing the family vehicle.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
  • Prepare and coordinate donation and resale drop-offs.
  • Prepare for events, holidays, travel, and guests.
  • Perform indoor plant care.
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, and other minor maintenance tasks.
  • Manage the family calendar, including household schedules.
  • Make calls and send emails on behalf of the family for administrative tasks.
  • Manage family forms and paperwork, including obtaining forms from doctors for school, camp, and other activities.
  • Submit insurance reimbursement paperwork.
  • Track receipts and budgets for expenses incurred as house manager.
  • Coordinate events and appointments.
  • Assist with travel planning and logistics.
  • Assist with payroll.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Manage running household supply lists.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (e.g., Amazon, Instacart).
  • Perform grocery shopping as needed.
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping.
  • Manage mail and package handling.
  • Break down boxes.
  • Undertake organizational projects for toys, gear, closets, and pantry.
  • Refresh entry areas, keeping dining tables and countertops clear.
  • Ensure cleaners conduct occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards).
  • Clean humidifiers and air purifiers.
  • Schedule vehicle maintenance.
  • Handle vehicle fueling, cleaning, and organizing.
  • Track vehicle registration and insurance.
  • Oversee cleaners, contractors, and handymen.
  • Research and coordinate repairs and quotes.
  • Assist with family support and child-related errands.
  • Perform light supervision or back-up childcare.
  • Handle kid-related errands.

Benefits
