About The Position

We are a busy, loving family seeking a proactive and reliable House Manager & Meal Prep Support person to bring organization, rhythm, and support to our day-to-day routine. This role involves ownership of laundry, tidying, kitchen management, and providing "ready-to-cook" meal prep. Our blended family includes a 5-year-old, two older children (ages 10 & 14) who are with us part-time, and a college-aged niece. We are looking for someone who can keep everything running smoothly, from laundry and meal prep to managing household tasks, allowing us to spend less time on logistics and more time enjoying each other’s company.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Perform daily resets and prepare the home for cleaners
  • Light tidying including dishes, surfaces, and vacuuming high-traffic areas
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Maintain inventory for trips and unpacking after travel
  • Perform maintenance tasks such as changing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detectors
  • Prep ingredients for 4 dinners per week, bringing them to a "ready-to-cook" state
  • Wash, peel, and chop produce into uniform, bite-sized pieces
  • Set out canned or packaged items and prepare fresh finishing/topping ingredients
  • Make staple components when helpful (e.g., grains)
  • Set out remaining ingredients on the counter
  • Batch lunch salads for the week
  • Portion dry and frozen ingredients for smoothies in bags
  • Prep snacks and lunch components for 2 adults and 1 child
  • Follow dietary needs/preferences (vegetarian)
  • Assist with reviewing grocery lists, noting inventory and low-stock items, and placing grocery orders as needed
  • Pick up groceries and put them away in an organized manner
  • Organize ingredients by recipe and label containers
  • Maintain fridge organization and ensure ease of access for cooking
  • Perform kitchen resets, including cleaning counters, discarding scraps, and loading the dishwasher
  • Wash, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Manage linen rotation
  • Perform ironing/steaming and special garment care as needed
  • Maintain a well-stocked laundry area
  • Perform occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)
  • Refresh mudroom/drop zones/gym/entry areas
  • Clean humidifiers/air purifiers
  • Undertake organizational projects (toy rotation, children’s items, snack cabinet, closets, etc.)
  • Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift wrapping
  • Manage mail and package handling
  • Take out trash/boxes weekly
  • Occasional school pick-ups/drop-offs and backup childcare for date nights
  • Help keep the family organized for extracurricular activities
  • Act as a point of contact for cleaners, contractors, and landscapers
  • Occasional management of outdoor spaces (picking up toys, basic maintenance)
