About The Position

This is a part-time role for a House Manager & Family Assistant in Phoenix, AZ, requiring 15-20 hours per week over 3-4 days, typically with afternoon shifts. The position involves supporting a busy family of four with meal preparation, light childcare, household organization, and general maintenance. The family seeks a proactive, intuitive, and organized individual to help create a calm and efficient home environment, allowing them to focus more on family time and business growth. The role requires flexibility for occasional evening availability and backup childcare during school breaks.

Responsibilities

  • Perform afternoon school pickups for two school-age children.
  • Provide back-up and occasional date-night childcare.
  • Offer after-school supervision, including online learning and homework support.
  • Unpack backpacks and lunch boxes, and manage/organize artwork and school papers.
  • Support during parent travel, coordinating with other family members providing childcare.
  • Plan and prepare 3-4 family meals per week, including fresh cooking, batch prep, and slow cooker meals, accommodating dietary needs (gluten-free, high-protein, organic preferences).
  • Conduct grocery shopping, both online and in-person.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organization, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems throughout the home.
  • Perform daily resets and prepare the home before biweekly cleaners arrive.
  • Conduct light tidying, including dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, and fridge/pantry organization.
  • Care for indoor plants.
  • Manage seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
  • Support with holiday decorations, including sourcing them as needed.
  • Coordinate and prepare for events, holidays, guests, and birthdays.
  • Assist with packing and unpacking for travel.
  • Perform proactive home upkeep, such as replacing batteries, light bulbs, and checking smoke detectors.
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry for the entire household.
  • Perform ironing and steaming, with attention to garment care.
  • Manage linen rotation for towels and bedding.
  • Maintain a tidy and well-stocked laundry area.
  • Restock pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies.
  • Manage running supply lists and household orders/subscriptions.
  • Handle returns, gift shopping, mail, and package management.
  • Break down boxes and manage recycling.
  • Perform donation drop-offs as needed.
  • Conduct occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards) as schedule allows.
  • Refresh garage, entryway, and mudroom areas.
  • Undertake organizational projects in areas like the playroom, artwork systems, children's clothing, pantry, and spice organization.
  • Provide one daily walk for the family dog.
  • Maintain the dog's prescription food supply.
  • Schedule grooming appointments and vet visits for the dog.
  • Schedule routine maintenance for the family vehicle.
  • Handle fueling, cleaning, and organizing the family vehicle as needed.
  • Research and coordinate vendor quotes and repairs.
  • Manage outdoor spaces, including watering patio pots and coordinating seasonal patio maintenance.
  • Manage the household calendar.
  • Coordinate events and appointments, including children's birthday celebrations.
  • Provide travel logistics support as needed.
