About The Position

This is a part-time role for a House Manager & Family Assistant in Phoenix, AZ, requiring 15-20 hours per week over 3-4 days, primarily in the afternoons. The role involves supporting a busy family of four with meal planning and preparation, light childcare, household organization, laundry, errands, pet care, and administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is proactive, intuitive, organized, and comfortable managing multiple responsibilities in a lively household. The family values a calm and organized home environment and seeks support to help them focus on family time and a new business venture.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Afternoon school pickups for two school-age children.
  • Back-up and occasional date-night childcare.
  • After-school supervision, including online learning and homework support.
  • Unpacking backpacks and lunch boxes, managing and organizing artwork and school papers.
  • Support during parent travel, coordinating with family members providing childcare.
  • Planning and preparing 3-4 family meals per week (fresh cooking, batch prep, slow cooker meals), accommodating dietary needs (gluten-free, high-protein, organic preferences).
  • Grocery shopping (online and in-person).
  • Kitchen clean-up and ongoing organization and maintenance.
  • Creating and maintaining household organization systems.
  • Daily resets and preparing the home before biweekly cleaners.
  • Light tidying: dishes, surfaces, vacuuming high-traffic areas, fridge and pantry organization.
  • Indoor plant care.
  • Seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding; holiday decoration support.
  • Coordinating and preparing for events, holidays, guests, and birthdays.
  • Packing and unpacking for travel.
  • Proactive home upkeep: replacing batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector checks.
  • Washing, folding, and organizing laundry for the household.
  • Ironing and steaming, with attention to garment care.
  • Linen rotation for towels and bedding.
  • Maintaining a tidy, well-stocked laundry area.
  • Restocking pantry, refrigerator, and household supplies.
  • Managing running supply lists and household orders/subscriptions.
  • Handling returns, gift shopping, mail, and package management.
  • Breaking down boxes and managing recycling.
  • Donation drop-offs as needed.
  • Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards).
  • Refreshing garage, entryway, and mudroom areas.
  • Organizational projects (playroom, artwork systems, children's clothing, pantry, spice organization).
  • One daily walk for the family dog.
  • Maintaining prescription food supply for the dog.
  • Scheduling grooming appointments and vet visits for the dog.
  • Scheduling routine maintenance for the family vehicle.
  • Fueling, cleaning, and organizing the family vehicle as needed.
  • Researching and coordinating vendor quotes and repairs.
  • Managing outdoor spaces: watering patio pots and coordinating seasonal patio maintenance.
  • Household calendar management.

  • Travel logistics support as needed.

Benefits
