We are a busy, warm, and high-energy household seeking a Part-Time House Manager & Family Assistant to help manage the day-to-day rhythm and details of our home. This role involves supporting our family, including our two spirited boys, one of whom has unique learning and sensory needs. You will be coordinating with extended family members who are actively involved in the children's lives. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and enjoys creating a calm and reset home environment. We are a progressive, values-forward household looking for someone who shares that spirit and can maintain professional boundaries while being a trusted part of the family.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily household resets, including making beds, tidying common areas, and refreshing the kitchen.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems for various areas like the playroom, pantry, and filing cabinet.
  • Manage seasonal clothing swaps and coordinate storage.
  • Assist with holiday decor takedown and organization.
  • Change batteries and light bulbs as needed.
  • Perform monthly toy rotation and removal of outgrown items.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies through in-person shopping.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions.
  • Handle returns, pharmacy and prescription pickups, and dry cleaning drop-off/pickup.
  • Open and sort incoming packages.
  • Prepare school lunches for the children.
  • Ensure the family has all ingredients for weekly dinners.
  • Assist with kitchen clean-up and maintenance.
  • Provide pre-planned, as-needed pickup and drop-off support for children's activities and appointments.
  • Assist with getting children to occupational therapy and tutoring appointments.
  • Maintain school schedules and prepare children's backpacks, clothing, and snacks.
  • Provide occasional light supervision and back-up childcare, with opportunities for evening and overnight babysitting.
  • Pack and unpack children for family trips.
  • Build warm, consistent relationships with the children and coordinate with extended family.
  • Research and coordinate vendors for home repairs and maintenance, gathering quotes and scheduling appointments.
  • Perform occasional targeted deep cleans of areas like the fridge, oven, and baseboards.
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas.
  • Clean and maintain humidifiers, air purifiers, and air filters.
  • Assist with closet organization and other ongoing organizational projects.
  • Perform bi-weekly partial water changes for the turtle aquarium.
  • Assist with gift purchasing and wrapping.
  • Help manage the family's Skylight calendar and coordinate event/appointment scheduling.
  • Assist with occasional family vehicle fueling, organizing, and coordinating maintenance.
  • Wash, fold, and put away all laundry for the parents; wash and fold children's laundry.
  • Wash and fold bed linens.
  • Occasional ironing/steaming.
  • Maintain a tidy, well-stocked laundry area and notify when supplies are running low.

Benefits

  • Compensation: $28–$32 per hour, depending on experience.
