About The Position

We are a busy, warm household looking for dedicated, consistent support to keep the home in great shape. The role involves upkeep tasks, meal prep, laundry, organizational projects, running errands, and backup childcare. We are seeking someone who works quietly and confidently behind the scenes, takes care of details, and is trustworthy and reliable. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, respects the family dynamic, and feels like a natural extension of the household operations. This is viewed as an ongoing, long-term relationship.

Responsibilities

  • Create and/or maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for biweekly cleaners
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Occasional guest and event prep
  • Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Assist with travel packing and unpacking, with primary focus on children
  • General upkeep including changing batteries, light bulbs, and checking smoke detectors as needed
  • Occasional deep cleans of appliances: refrigerator, oven, washing machine, dishwasher
  • Organizational projects (closets, pantries, toys)
  • Refresh garage, back porch, and outdoor cushions as needed
  • Restock pantry/fridge/household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon)
  • Returns, dry cleaning pickup, prescription pickup, and other errands as needed
  • Mail and package handling including breaking down boxes
  • Dinner prep 3–4 times per week: washing, chopping, marinating, and preparing ingredients
  • Assistance with lunch prep 2–3 times per week for the working parent
  • Occasional lunch help on busy homeschool days
  • Assistance with grocery shopping
  • Follow household dietary needs, including awareness of parent’s tree nut and peanut allergy safety
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
  • Wash/fold/organize family laundry
  • Strip and wash children's beds as needed
  • Occasional ironing and steaming as needed
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas
  • Seasonal property maintenance, including watering outside plants
  • Manage, light tidying of outdoor spaces
  • As-needed light supervision and backup childcare
  • Occasional date night coverage with notice
  • Very occasional pickup or drop-off as needed
  • Fuel, clean, organize vehicles (occasional vacuum of car seats)
  • Occasional support with scheduling/taking car in for maintenance
  • Awareness of family calendars and schedules
  • Receipt tracking for household expenses incurred as house manager
  • Occasional appointment scheduling or event coordination as needed
