About The Position

This is a part-time House Manager / Family Assistant role for a family in Emerald Hills, CA. The position requires 15-20 hours per week with a flexible schedule, preferably late morning to early afternoons, 2-4 days per week, Monday-Thursday. The compensation is $38-$42 per hour, based on experience. The role involves maintaining household organization, performing deep cleaning and special projects, managing inventory and errands, providing meal support, handling laundry and linens, coordinating vehicle upkeep, offering administrative and personal assistant support, and occasional pet care. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, resourceful, adaptable, tech-savvy, and enjoys creating systems to make life easier. They should be comfortable around a large dog and maintain a smoke-free environment. Reliable personal transportation is required, and mileage reimbursement is available for personal vehicle use. The start date is ASAP.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and improve household organization systems throughout the home
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying (dishes, surfaces, high-traffic areas) between cleaner visits
  • Prep home ahead of Tuesday cleaning visits
  • Seasonal décor and bedding swaps
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, and smoke detector batteries as needed
  • Monitor and replace air purifier filters
  • Event and holiday prep, including large Thanksgiving hosting and kids' visits for summer, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs and box breakdowns
  • Occasional deep cleans (fridge, oven, baseboards)
  • Clean humidifiers and air purifiers
  • Undertake organizational projects: clearing and sorting boxes (including a significant volume of inherited business documents requiring shredding), going through kids' belongings, linen organization
  • Provide legwork support for a planned garage remodel
  • Perform grocery shopping and pantry/fridge restocking, scaling up when family is home for visits
  • Manage household supply lists and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target)
  • Conduct in-person errands: dry cleaning, returns, gift shopping, mail and package handling
  • Wash, prep, and chop produce for the week
  • Batch cook 1–2 healthy meals per week (soups, grains, salads)
  • Perform light grocery shopping with an eye toward healthy, whole-food staples
  • Maintain kitchen clean-up and organization
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry
  • Manage linen organization, keeping sets together for the weekly cleaner
  • Maintain a tidy, well-stocked laundry area
  • Schedule maintenance for two family vehicles
  • Handle fueling, cleaning, and light organizing of family vehicles
  • Coordinate appointments and schedule vendors
  • Research and get bids for repair projects
  • Manage paper organization, including business paperwork and personal documents
  • Provide light research support for film and theater projects
  • Schedule occasional vet or grooming appointments
  • Maintain pet supply inventory
