About The Position

We are a warm, welcoming family seeking a "household unicorn" to help manage our busy home. We need someone who genuinely enjoys creating order, keeping things moving, and helping a busy family stay a few steps ahead of the chaos. The role focuses on laundry, meal prep, creating and maintaining household systems, and organizational projects. While not a traditional childcare role, comfort around children and the ability to be a positive presence is important. We value kindness, initiative, trust, open communication, and flexibility. This is a part-time role with guaranteed hours, offering a meaningful opportunity to make a significant impact on a family's daily life.

Responsibilities

  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry and linens, including ironing/steaming and special garment care.
  • Create and maintain household organization systems, including daily resets and managing clutter in high-traffic zones.
  • Perform light cleaning tasks such as dishes, surfaces, swiffering floors, and vacuuming.
  • Execute seasonal swaps for clothing, decor, and bedding, and sort outgrown children's items.
  • Assist with holiday decoration setup/takedown and organize decorations.
  • Provide packing and unpacking assistance for family travel.
  • Perform indoor plant care and acquire new plants.
  • Undertake occasional deep cleaning projects and refresh high-traffic zones.
  • Change air purifier filters and complete organizational projects for toys, gear, closets, and pantries.
  • Create weekly meal plans with simple, healthy, kid-friendly recipes.
  • Prepare 3-4 dinners per week, with flexibility for lunch prep.
  • Wash and prep fruits and vegetables, ensuring produce is organized and accessible.
  • Complete grocery shopping with attention to quality produce and strict adherence to nut-free requirements.
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and organization.
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies, and manage running household supply lists.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions, and handle returns and dry cleaning.
  • Perform occasional gift shopping and return items to storage units.
  • Assist with gathering lists and logistics for gifts and upcoming birthdays/holidays.
  • Handle mail and package management, including opening, unpacking, breaking down boxes, and putting items away.
  • Provide school/activity pickups and drop-offs 1-2 times per week.
  • Offer light supervision and backup childcare as needed.
  • Provide weekend daytime coverage approximately bi-weekly for parents' day out and occasional dinner support.
  • Help unpack and repack backpacks, and organize and prepare snacks.
  • Complete kid-related errands.
  • Perform weekly checks of family vehicles for forgotten items and light interior organization.
  • Make occasional appointments for vendor and property oversight.
  • Coordinate seasonal property maintenance, including outdoor furniture care, patio cleaning, and pollen removal.
  • Manage outdoor spaces, including cleaning cushions and pool/patio areas.
  • Provide administrative and personal assistant support, including travel planning and calendar management.
  • Organize receipts for house manager expenses.
  • Feed and walk the puppy as needed.
  • Refill and clean the fish tank approximately 1-2 times monthly.
  • Maintain pet supplies for dog and fish.
  • Provide occasional help with pet sitting, especially during family travel or full-day absences.
