About The Position

We are seeking a warm, positive, and calm House Manager & Family Assistant to help our family of five run more smoothly. Our household includes three children and a gentle dog. We cherish family time and are looking for someone to help with daily routines, household organization, meal prep, and occasional support during monthly family travel to NJ. This role requires someone proactive, organized, and trustworthy who can anticipate needs and maintain a well-organized and welcoming home environment. The ideal candidate will be a systems-oriented, flexible, and friendly individual who respects boundaries and professionalism while bringing joy and ease to our family life.

Responsibilities

  • Flexibility for travel support for flight and airport assistance (approximately monthly)
  • Provide light supervision and backup childcare
  • Occasional date night coverage
  • Kid-related errands
  • Create and/or Maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners (bi-weekly)
  • Light tidying of living room, playroom, and kitchen (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Toy organization and reset
  • Trash / recycling management
  • Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Event/holiday/guest prep
  • Packing/unpacking for travel
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc. occasionally
  • Wash, fold, organize, and put away all laundry
  • Occasional ironing/steaming and special garment care
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas
  • Plan and prepare 3-5 dinners per week (meals ready or partially prepared)
  • Prepare simple lunch options (sandwiches, salads, grab-and-go items)
  • Occasionally prep lunches for children during summer months
  • Wash and chop fresh fruit and vegetables for snacks
  • Light cooking (as needed)
  • Manage grocery orders via Publix delivery
  • Follow dietary preferences (healthy, low-carb)
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Target, Costco, Publix)
  • Mail and package handling, including box breakdown
  • Returns, dry cleaning, and occasional gift shopping
  • Occasional deep cleaning of fridge, freezer, and pantry
  • Organize kids’ clothes (especially as they outgrow sizes)
  • Organizational projects for toys, gear, cabinets, and storage areas
  • Refresh garage and entryway as needed
  • Clean humidifiers
  • Feed and walk the dog as needed
  • Dog sitting while family is traveling
  • Occasional vet or grooming scheduling
  • Fueling, cleaning, and organizing family vehicle as needed
  • Oversee cleaners/contractors/landscapers
  • Research/coordinate repairs and quotes
  • Seasonal property maintenance
  • Manage outdoor spaces
  • Travel planning and logistics
  • Awareness of family calendar (including household schedules)
  • Receipt/budget tracking for expenses incurred as house manager
  • Event and appointment coordination
