About The Position

This is a part-time role, requiring 10-15 hours per week, with a flexible schedule across 3-4 days. The position involves supporting a family of five (two adults, a 2-year-old, a 14-year-old, and a French Bulldog) by managing day-to-day household details, meal preparation, and general organization. The family values health, wellness, and an active lifestyle. They are currently undergoing significant transitions, including preparing to sell their home and move, and opening a new brick-and-mortar store. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and comfortable with evolving routines. The role requires maintaining a calm, thoughtful, and organized environment, with a focus on supporting the family's daily rhythm and lightening their mental load. The family seeks someone mature, dependable, positive, and adaptable who takes pride in creating a calm and well-supported home.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain household organization systems
  • Daily resets and prep home for cleaners
  • Light tidying (dishes, surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas)
  • Seasonal swaps (clothing, décor, bedding)
  • Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs
  • Event, holiday, and guest prep
  • Packing and unpacking for travel
  • Indoor plant care
  • Change batteries, light bulbs, smoke detectors, etc.
  • Prep healthy meals and snacks 1-2 days per week
  • Grocery shopping
  • Follow dietary needs and preferences (one parent has a tree nut allergy)
  • Kitchen clean-up and maintenance
  • Wash, fold, and organize laundry
  • Ironing, steaming, and special garment care
  • Linen rotation
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked laundry areas
  • Restock pantry, fridge, and household supplies
  • Manage running household supply lists
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions (Amazon, Costco, Target)
  • Handle returns, dry cleaning, and gift shopping
  • Mail and package handling
  • Break down boxes
  • Refresh garage, mudroom, and entry areas
  • Clean humidifiers and air purifiers
  • Organizational projects (toys, gear)
  • Schedule maintenance for family vehicles
  • Fueling, cleaning, and organizing family vehicles
  • Feeding and walking the family dog
  • Taking the dog to the dog park
  • Vet and grooming scheduling
  • Maintain pet supplies
  • Oversee cleaners/contractors/landscapers
