About The Position

This is a part-time role (25-30 hours/week, 25 hours guaranteed) for a House Manager and Family Assistant in Solon, OH. The position involves supporting a single-parent household with a 13-year-old daughter and two dogs. The primary focus is on creating and maintaining household organization, establishing routines, and assisting with daily tasks such as laundry and meal preparation. The role also includes supporting the daughter's activities, homework, and social engagement, as well as managing household inventory, errands, and vendor coordination. Occasional overnight support may be required when the parent travels for work.

Requirements

  • Comfortable working with dogs.

Responsibilities

  • Pick up daughter from school and transport to various appointments and activities.
  • Provide light supervision and homework support.
  • Support high school entrance exam preparation.
  • Encourage outdoor activities and social engagement.
  • Assist with packing daughter's items for travel.
  • Provide occasional overnight support when the parent travels.
  • Create and maintain household organizational systems.
  • Perform daily resets and light tidying.
  • Prepare home for biweekly cleaning service.
  • Coordinate seasonal swaps for clothing, décor, and bedding.
  • Coordinate donation drop-offs.
  • Perform indoor plant care and watering.
  • Handle small household maintenance tasks like changing light bulbs and smoke detector batteries.
  • Assist with event and holiday preparation.
  • Maintain inventory of pantry, fridge, and household supplies.
  • Perform grocery shopping.
  • Manage household orders and subscriptions.
  • Handle dry cleaning pickup and drop-off.
  • Manage returns and occasional gift shopping.
  • Sort and manage incoming mail and packages.
  • Break down boxes for recycling.
  • Plan, shop for, and prepare 3-4 hot dinners per week.
  • Accommodate a temporary low-sodium diet.
  • Prepare or support daughter in packing school lunches.
  • Perform kitchen cleanup and maintenance.
  • Wash, fold, and organize all household laundry.
  • Manage weekly bedding and towel rotation.
  • Maintain tidy and well-stocked linen areas.
  • Walk both dogs daily.
  • Feed dogs each evening.
  • Schedule and transport dogs to grooming appointments.
  • Administer medications to dogs as needed.
  • Deep clean fridge and organize pantry with expiration date checks.
  • Organize office and basement areas.
  • Coordinate blind installation appointments and vendor recommendations.
  • Set up outdoor seasonal planters and wreaths.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors, and be present for appointments.
  • Research and obtain quotes for home projects.
  • Assist with personal travel planning and logistics.
  • Manage calendar using Hearth or similar system.
  • Schedule personal appointments (dentist, orthodontist, doctor, hair, etc.).
  • Organize office and filing systems.
  • Enter expenses and organize receipts for tax preparation.
  • Set up and maintain a bill tracking system.
