About The Position

The Hotel Room Attendant cleans and prepares guest rooms, prioritizing checked-out rooms and completing assigned rooms thoroughly within 25 minutes. The role includes preparing and maintaining housekeeping carts, cleaning and inspecting guest rooms, reporting maintenance and safety concerns, and responding to guest requests. The position requires attention to detail, prior housekeeping experience, customer service experience, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Load housekeeping carts with all necessary supplies.
• Turn off electricity in rooms, with heating or cooling set to fan or cool.
• Strip beds in checked-out rooms and take dirty linens to the laundry before cleaning.
• Turn off lights, strip beds, and take dirty linens from newly checked-out rooms to the laundry immediately.
• Clean the cart and ensure all bottles are correctly labeled.
• Clean rooms thoroughly within 25 minutes in a fast-paced environment.
• Obtain the executive housekeeper’s signature on the work assignment sheet.
• Vacuum and sweep carpets and floors.
• Dust and clean room decorations, appliances, and structural surfaces, including wall fixtures, window sills, and vents.
• Clean showers, tubs, sinks, and bathroom items; remove used guest amenities and supplies.
• Inspect rooms for safety hazards and check equipment operating conditions.
• Check for damaged linens.
• Report lost and found articles, maintenance problems, and special room issues to a supervisor.
• Prepare rooms for guest arrivals and respond to special guest requests, such as delivering newspapers or cleaning spills.
• Keep storage rooms clean and stock housekeeping carts.
• Remove linens from housekeeping carts, place them in laundry carts, and send them to the laundry.
• Record room status on work assignment sheets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
