About The Position

Hotel Equities is seeking a Hotel Maintenance Technician (Rooms Reconditioning) for the Hilton Harrisburg in Harrisburg, PA. The role involves maintaining the excellent condition and repair of hotel guestrooms by performing various tasks related to carpentry, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, painting, wall covering, and masonry.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of all maintenance trades, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for operation and repair of hotel equipment.
  • Skill in the use of related tools (both hand and electric).
  • Basic English language communication and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Ability to push and pull objects or materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, working at heights up to approximately 30 feet for extended periods.
  • Ability to reach, often times overhead.
  • Ability to grasp, lift, or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs., occasionally waist high.
  • Ability to deal with a number of problems requiring initiative and good judgment.
  • Ability to move and work throughout the hotel for the duration of the shift.
  • Basic experience in maintenance trades, including electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and carpentry.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily inspection of guestrooms to repair, touch up, or replace items such as light bulbs, lamps, switches, outlets, faucets, toilets, hardware, filters, paint, furniture, wall covering, caulking, and grouting.
  • Visually inspect and detect items needing repair, utilizing knowledge of various maintenance trades.
  • Frequently use basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical experience for repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records in English for logs and inspection sheets.
  • Operate a handheld device for logging and tracking work order statuses.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary supplies.
  • Report major repairs and unrepairable items to the dispatcher and place rooms out of order if necessary.
  • Assist other departments as directed.
