The Hotel Maintenance Manager is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and functionality of the hotel’s physical plant, building structure, and engineering systems. This hands-on role oversees maintenance staff and projects, ensures compliance with safety regulations and brand standards, and implements preventative maintenance and energy-conservation programs. The position also involves maintaining equipment and systems such as refrigeration and air conditioning, fire alarms, boilers, power systems, and emergency generators. The manager coordinates remodeling and refurbishing work, budgets, work orders, supplies, and inspections, and works with department heads, contractors, designers, architects, utilities, and public agencies as needed. In coordination with the General Manager, the manager develops and implements emergency plans, conducts drills, and trains staff on emergency procedures and equipment. The role may assume Manager on Duty responsibilities when senior management is less present and requires availability for shifts, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins.
