About The Position

The Hotel Housekeeper maintains clean and appealing guest rooms in accordance with brand standards and property requirements. The role involves cleaning guest rooms and bathrooms, replacing linens and amenities, managing room supplies and equipment, and promptly reporting maintenance concerns, missing or found items, and unusual conditions. The housekeeper also follows emergency procedures and may assist the Director of Housekeeping with additional cleaning tasks.

Requirements

• Any combination of education, training, and/or experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to perform the job.
• Grade school education is preferred.
• Previous hotel-related experience is desired.

Responsibilities

• Change bed linen as required and make beds.
• Vacuum carpeting and mop or clean bathroom floors.
• Dust furniture, including picture frames, bed frames, lamps, televisions, and dressers.
• Remove fingerprints and smudges from mirrors, shiny surfaces, windows, and other areas.
• Thoroughly clean bathrooms, including showers, sinks, floors, and toilets.
• Remove and replace used amenities and empty trash receptacles.
• Immediately report damage or maintenance issues found in guest rooms.
• Immediately report missing items in rooms and personal guest items found in vacant rooms.
• Notify the Director of Housekeeping & Laundry about roll-away beds or cribs in rooms for pick-up and storage.
• Take responsibility for the pass key and ensure it is turned in daily.
• Immediately turn in lost-and-found items to the Director of Housekeeping & Laundry.
• Maintain a well-stocked, clean cart.
• Dispose of dirty linen and trash appropriately.
• Immediately report no-luggage rooms, no-service-needed rooms, and anything unusual to the Director of Housekeeping & Laundry.
• Assist the Director of Housekeeping with additional cleaning chores as assigned.
• Understand and complete tasks associated with emergency procedures.
