About The Position

The Hotel Housekeeper cleans hotel guestrooms and common areas, including lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways. The role includes cleaning rooms to franchise standards within required timeframes, handling and replenishing linens and supplies, maintaining housekeeping carts and equipment, and ensuring guest privacy and security. Housekeepers use materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment safely and communicate room needs to the maintenance department. Employees are responsible for following KHC policies and procedures, property-specific guidelines, dress code, safety and performance standards. They must maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled. Open interviews are held Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Dubuque/Galena in Dubuque, Iowa; candidates are instructed to ask for Frank at the front desk.

Requirements

Ability to perform the described housekeeping duties and meet the role’s physical demands.

Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Meet the job’s vision requirements, including close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Clean hotel guestrooms, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
Sort, count, fold, mark, or carry hotel linens.
Clean hotel spaces according to franchise standards and required timeframes, including making beds, dusting, washing surfaces, cleaning floors and windows, emptying waste, vacuuming furnishings and carpets, and cleaning bathrooms.
Replenish bathroom necessities, drinking glasses, and writing supplies.
Move furniture, hang drapes, and roll carpets to meet franchise requirements.
Transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
Replace light bulbs.
Stock, organize, and maintain housekeeping carts and equipment.
Greet guests in a warm, friendly manner.
Follow key-control and security policies to protect guests’ privacy and belongings while working in guestrooms.
Use materials, chemicals, and tools safely to avoid injury, waste, damage, or accidents.
Communicate room needs to the maintenance department.
Follow KHC policies, procedures, and property-specific guidelines, including dress code, safety, and performance standards.
Maintain a professional image and report to work as scheduled.
