About The Position

At Whiskey Cake, team members are gregarious and outgoing, creating an invigorating impact on guests. Hosts use interpersonal skills to contribute to a welcoming, efficient guest experience and connect with guests beyond the details of the menu. The role includes welcoming guests, managing reservations and wait times, answering calls and questions, and helping keep the restaurant clean and ready for service. Prior restaurant experience is desired but not required.

Requirements

• Fun, energetic, and genuinely caring about the guest experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds.

• OpenTable experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests and coworkers in a professional, hospitable, and friendly manner.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work, and wear the proper uniform, including appropriate dress, makeup, hair, and jewelry.
• Accept and book reservations correctly; offer an alternative time or option when the guest’s requested time is unavailable.
• Calculate, record, and quote accurate wait times. For extended waits, offer guests the bar for cocktails and appetizers before their dinner table is ready.
• Keep floors, the entry, and aisleways clean and free of debris.
• Help bus tables when the restaurant is on a wait or needs a table immediately.
• Give guests the right of way and help guests who need directions around the restaurant.
• Thank departing guests for dining and welcome arriving guests.
• Know restaurant information well enough to answer guest questions and address concerns.
• Answer phone calls and fulfill guest needs; place calls on hold or direct them to the appropriate department as needed, and communicate important information to managers on duty.
