About The Position

The Host provides guests with information and support by phone and in person in a professional, gracious manner. The role receives and coordinates reservations and seating for restaurant service, advocates for the restaurant, creates personalized guest experiences, and builds relationships that encourage guests to return.

The Host works in a lively, empowering environment that values creativity, self-leadership, authenticity, and a passion for improving the lives of guests and coworkers. Team members may take on responsibilities beyond this job description as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
• Ability to learn, retain, and present product, menu, and allergy information to guests.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, the restaurant point-of-sale and reservation systems.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a passion for hospitality and creating unique, memorable guest experiences.
• Food Handler Certification, if applicable.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends, nights, and holidays when needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service or hospitality experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet restaurant guests, share knowledge of the area, and provide information when asked.
• Seat guests fairly and consistently.
• Handle paperwork accurately and keep the host stand stocked and tidy.
• Answer incoming calls and accurately book guest reservations.
• Take room service orders when applicable.
• Check the floor and tables for accuracy and cleanliness, and assist with bussing tables.
• Help servers by refilling beverages when needed.
• Handle other restaurant- and customer-service-related guest requests.
• Take on responsibilities outside the job description when needed.
