About The Position

Coach Grill in Wayland, Massachusetts, is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Host to welcome guests and help create a memorable upscale dining experience. The Host/Hostess provides genuine, personable hospitality and is responsible for making a positive first and last impression. The role calls for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional service that encourages guests to return. The Host contributes to restaurant teamwork and success by communicating effectively with guests, servers, and managers; managing seating and table availability; handling telephone calls, reservations, and takeout orders; and helping ensure guest satisfaction. The position also includes maintaining cleanliness and sanitation, meeting grooming and uniform standards, completing opening, running, and closing duties, and performing other functions requested by management.

Requirements

At least 1 year of upscale hospitality experience as a host is required.
Adaptability and flexibility to changing business needs, responsibilities, situations, and customer needs.

Confidence in the ability to perform the job.
Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction and provide excellent service to guests and team members.

Responsibilities

Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards.
Greet guests warmly and make a positive first impression.
Provide genuine hospitality and establish emotional connections with guests.
Contribute to teamwork and the overall success of the restaurant.
Communicate effectively with guests and team members.
Escort guests to their tables while engaging in polite conversation.
Answer telephone calls and accurately take reservation requests.
Accurately take in-person and telephone orders for takeout and to-go food packages.
Update table availability and manage the dining room using the table management system.
Handle guest complaints professionally and alert a manager immediately.
Communicate table availability, key table updates, and guest special requests to managers and servers.
Follow up with guests about their meals and dining experiences to support satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation.
Maintain a professional and gracious demeanor.
Accurately perform opening, running, and closing duties.
Perform other job functions requested by the management team.
