About The Position

Whiskey Cake is seeking an experienced Host who brings an energetic, welcoming presence and genuine care for the guest experience. Team members connect with guests beyond menu details and use that connection to provide efficient, attentive hospitality. Prior restaurant and host experience are required. The role involves welcoming and assisting guests, managing reservations and wait times, keeping the entrance and walkways clean, helping with table bussing when needed, and responding to guest questions and phone calls. Hosts must be able to stand for long periods and lift at least 50 pounds. OpenTable experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Interact with guests and co-workers in a professional, hospitable, and friendly manner.
• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts, ready to work, and wear the proper uniform, including appropriate dress, makeup, hair, and jewelry.
• Accept and book reservations; offer alternative times or options when the guest’s preferred time is unavailable.
• Calculate, record, and quote accurate wait times, and offer guests the bar for cocktails and appetizers when waits are extensive.
• Keep floors, the entry, and aisleways clean and free of debris.
• Assist with bussing tables when the restaurant is on a wait or needs a table immediately.
• Give guests right of way and assist guests who need directions around the restaurant.
• Thank departing guests for dining and welcome arriving guests.
• Know restaurant information well enough to answer guest questions and address concerns.
• Answer phone calls and fulfill guest needs; place calls on hold or direct them to the proper department as needed, and communicate important information to managers on duty.
