About The Position

Puckett's Grocery & Restaurant in Nashville, Tennessee, is hiring a Host to help create an exceptional dining experience. The Host welcomes and warmly greets guests, manages efficient and timely seating at tables that suit guests’ wishes, assists with to-go orders, and answers the telephone. The role calls for a friendly, responsive, energetic, and positive personality. The position is at 500 Church St, Nashville, TN. Hours vary, and weekend availability is needed. Pay is $15–$18 per hour plus tips, depending on experience. Puckett's is part of A. Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.
Have reliable transportation to and from work.
Pass the federally mandated E-Verify process.
Communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, and guests.
Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
Be able to stand for long periods, up to 8 hours.
Be able to safely lift and frequently maneuver trays of food and beverages weighing up to 20–30 pounds.
Be self-disciplined, take initiative, have leadership skills, and be outgoing.
Have a pleasant, polite manner and a neat, clean appearance.
Be able to multitask and problem-solve under the pressures of coordinating a wide range of activities.

Responsibilities

Welcome and warmly greet guests upon arrival.
Manage the efficient and timely seating of guests at tables that best serve their wishes.
Assist with to-go orders.
Answer the telephone.
Communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel, and guests.
Handle a range of activities simultaneously and recommend appropriate solutions to restaurant problems.
