About The Position

The Host greets and seats guests in a welcoming, friendly manner, accommodating their needs and seating preferences whenever possible. The role supports a smooth restaurant experience by managing guest flow and wait times, maintaining clean and properly presented dining areas, assisting servers, and handling takeout orders and payments as needed. The Host also completes assigned side work and helps ensure efficient restaurant operations as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.

Responsibilities

Greet arriving guests warmly and promptly.
Accommodate special seating requests whenever possible and seat guests according to their preferences while balancing customer flow across service stations.
When immediate seating is unavailable, record guest names and party sizes, provide estimated wait times, and call guests when tables become available.
Offer menus when seating guests and inspect tables for proper presentation and completeness.
Clean and reset tables promptly after guests leave; clean chairs, booths, and surrounding carpet.
Process guest payments as quickly as possible when needed.
Provide departing guests with a positive, friendly send-off, thank them for visiting, and invite them to return.
Relay messages to servers as needed.
Maintain clean entrances, lobby, dining room, and restrooms.
Assist servers with maintaining and stocking service stations.
Transport bus tubs of dirty dishes to the dish room when needed.
Take food and beverage orders from guests requesting takeout and enter orders into the point-of-sale system.
Perform assigned side work at the start and end of each shift.
Fill in as needed to support smooth and efficient restaurant operations, as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
