About The Position

BLVD Kitchen & Bar is seeking a part-time Host/Hostess. This hourly position involves welcoming and seating guests, managing reservations and takeout orders, coordinating seating plans, and helping maintain an orderly and positive dining experience. Workdays and hours vary according to business hours and job requirements. The business operates seven days a week, with hours that may range from 9 AM to 2 AM depending on the work required.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal communication skills when interacting with management, servers, team members, and guests.
• Basic reading skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to visually scan the restaurant for clean, unoccupied tables.
• Ability to work well both with others and independently.
• Ability to organize and multitask.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 30 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
• Ability to walk, stand, carry, and lift continuously throughout the shift.

Responsibilities

• Check in all employees and highlight them in the OpenTable system.
• Answer the phone, take reservations, and take takeout orders.
• Keep menus clean and organized.
• Greet, check in, and seat guests.
• Print special chits from OpenTable and give them to the server when the server checks in.
• Review reservations and map out the plan for the shift.
• Use table software to capture important information about guests.
• Work with the floor manager to ensure appropriate wait times.
• Keep restrooms and the host stand clean, stocked, and organized.
• Interact with guests to help ensure a positive dining experience.
