About The Position

Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch is hiring a part-time Host/Hostess at Barrel House Bistro. The role welcomes and seats guests, manages the flow of the dining room, and supports smooth service in a fast-paced hospitality environment. The Host/Hostess maintains reservations and guest requests, stays knowledgeable about menu items and service procedures, and helps ensure service areas and table settings meet appearance and cleanliness standards. The position also supports service staff with side work, bussing, and cocktail orders, while communicating guest requests and concerns to the department manager and incorporating safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly greeting and escort them to their assigned tables.
• Control dining-room workflow by seating guests according to station rotation, maintaining guest lists, and following and enforcing check issue procedures.
• Assign opening and/or closing side duties, supervise side work, and ensure station setup lists are completed before service staff depart.
• Maintain the reservation book, answer incoming telephone calls, and record reservations and special requests.
• Remain knowledgeable about menu items, prices, and general service procedures.
• Maintain standards of appearance and cleanliness in service areas.
• Remain visible and accessible to guests, staff, and management on the dining-room floor.
• Check table settings daily before service.
• Assist with side work and help service staff by bussing tables and taking cocktail orders.
• Communicate guest requests and concerns to the department manager.
• Incorporate safe work practices into job performance.
