About The Position

The Host/Hostess is responsible for seating residents in the dining room and handling customer-service situations as they arise. The role helps create an enjoyable dining experience and maintain a safe, clean, and neat environment. It includes greeting and seating guests, supporting and supervising dining-room service activities, helping train new food-service team members, and assisting with service as needed.

Responsibilities

Promptly and warmly greet guests and direct them to tables based on availability or desired seating arrangements.
Help create an enjoyable dining experience and promote a safe, clean, and neat environment for guests and associates.
Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared.
Supervise dining-room food-service associates to ensure proper customer service, food handling, and sanitation procedures.
Help train new food-service team members.
Supervise closing of the assigned dining room and ensure side work and station setup are completed properly.
Know emergency safety procedures and help evacuate guests in the event of a fire or other emergency.
Assist with service, including occasional bussing and food service, while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards.
Operate equipment as requested, including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea or soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
Work with staff from other departments to perform job duties and support special events or functions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
