About The Position

The Higgins Hotel is hiring a part-time Host/ess for Rosie's on the Roof. The role is focused on welcoming guests and helping create a warm, positive dining experience in a fast-paced, guest-centric environment. The Host/ess greets and seats guests, provides menus and recommendations, coordinates with kitchen and service staff, and supports reservations and waitlist management. The position also involves maintaining an organized host station, responding to guest inquiries, resolving concerns, and upholding professional service standards.

The Higgins Hotel & Conference Center is a 230-room hotel across from The National WWII Museum in New Orleans. Its amenities include a full-service restaurant, lounge, rooftop bar, and conference center. Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous customer service experience, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly and outgoing personality.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of reservation systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly upon arrival.
• Escort guests to their tables and keep seating arrangements organized.
• Provide menus, answer questions, and make recommendations.
• Coordinate with the kitchen and servers to support timely service.
• Assist with reservations and manage the waiting list.
• Keep the host/hostess station clean and organized.
• Handle guest inquiries and resolve issues or complaints.
• Maintain professionalism and high service standards.
