About The Position

The Hospitality Coordinator at Ridge Vineyards is responsible for providing an exemplary guest experience to members of the trade, press, media, and various clients including consumer, corporate, and VIP guests. This role involves facilitating the scheduling, planning, and hosting of diverse visits to the property, while also conducting sales of wine, wine club memberships, and merchandise. Key duties include booking administration, hands-on guest service, event setup and breakdown, and communication with stakeholders. The position requires excellent wine knowledge, a passion for fine wine, and the ability to provide high-touch wine service, including proper handling of older wines, decanting, fault detection, and table-side service. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented, articulate, self-motivated, customer-service driven, and flexible to work occasional evenings.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate college degree preferred; minimum two years' junior college
  • Minimum three years' experience in the luxury wine industry with emphasis on exceptional guest service
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Collaborative/team operational skills
  • Ability to make empowered decisions that positively affect the customer's experience
  • Computer proficiency: Word, Excel, Outlook, WiMS, etc.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to travel throughout the Bay Area and occasionally beyond, as needed
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

Responsibilities

  • Schedule, plan, and host trade, press, and media visits, coordinating with internal stakeholders to ensure events meet company standards.
  • Conduct tours, tastings, and vineyard visits for trade, press, and media.
  • Host distributors/importers for multi-day visits.
  • Organize and host trade lunches or dinners.
  • Handle regular weekend appointments for trade and media.
  • Secure wines and accompaniments, and manage setup and teardown of tastings.
  • Provide follow-up and feedback to guests and requesters.
  • Schedule, plan, and host consumer visitors, VIP guests, and corporate groups.
  • Host tours, tastings, lunches, dinners, vineyard visits, and specialty presentations (e.g., food and wine pairings, sensory analysis).
  • Conduct sales of wine, wine club memberships, and non-wine merchandise.
  • Pour wine and greet guests at major events such as consumer tastings, wine club events, sommelier symposiums, hospitality open houses, and wine release parties.
  • Pour wine and greet guests at key consumer and trade tasting events in the SF Bay Area and beyond, as needed.
  • Partner closely with Retail, Customer Service, Marketing, and Wholesale Sales teams.
  • Partner closely with principals, their executive assistants, and winemakers for scheduling, preparation, and execution.
  • Provide guest interaction information (industry trends, economic data, product feedback) to sales and marketing teams for strategic planning.
  • Research guest history and portfolio prior to arrival to tailor the guest experience.
  • Maintain accurate customer and account records, and visitation history in the CRM system.
  • Perform all related duties as assigned.
