About The Position

Intermountain Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Hospitalist (Internal Medicine) to join an inpatient team as a Nocturnist. The position is based primarily at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah, with regular rotations at Spanish Fork Hospital, Orem Community Hospital, and on the Tele-Hospitalist service. The physician provides direct inpatient care with assistance from a nurse coordinator and participates in the teaching service, providing clinical education to residents and medical students.

Physicians work twelve 12-hour shifts per month, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts. A physician-created schedule offers flexibility to plan time off around scheduled shifts. The position includes a $15,000 starting bonus, relocation assistance determined by distance, and the possibility of an annual Value Recognition Payment of up to $20,000 based on quality goals, stewardship, and performance-review standards. Caregivers are eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness through the organization’s 501(c)(3) status.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine.
• Successful completion of residency training in a US ACGME-accredited program.
• Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Active, unobstructed Utah medical license, or the ability to obtain one.
• Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process.
• Current BLS Certification before the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient care, with assistance from a nurse coordinator.
• Participate in the teaching service and provide clinical education to residents and medical students.
• Rotate primarily at Utah Valley Hospital, with regular rotations at Spanish Fork Hospital, Orem Community Hospital, and on the Tele-Hospitalist service.
