About The Position
This role involves serving as a Nocturnist Hospitalist at Columbia St. Mary's Milwaukee, a 300-bed facility within the Ascension Milwaukee Hospitals network. The position is full-time and focuses on providing care during overnight hours. The Nocturnist will be part of a collaborative night team, evaluating and treating hospital admissions, and mentoring residents. The role benefits from a closed ICU model, allowing focus on medical management and diagnostic accuracy, with accurate documentation being key for seamless communication within the facility and integrated network.
Requirements
- Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
Nice To Haves
- Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat hospital admissions, serving as the primary attending or consulting physician to stabilize and care for patients during the critical overnight hours.
- Teach and mentor residents during every shift.
- Focus expertise on high-quality medical management and diagnostic accuracy, benefiting from a closed ICU model where dedicated Intensivists lead all codes and procedures.
- Capture the clinical story through accurate documentation, ensuring seamless communication across the 300-bed facility and the broader integrated network.
