About The Position

This contract, on-site position offers an excellent opportunity for an Associate-level physician to provide high-quality inpatient care in a supportive and collaborative clinical environment. As a Hospitalist with our Internal Medicine team, you will be responsible for managing the comprehensive care of hospitalized patients, from admission through discharge. You will collaborate closely with specialists, nursing staff, and ancillary teams to ensure coordinated, patient-centered treatment and optimal clinical outcomes.

Requirements

  • MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine
  • Associate-level experience as a Hospitalist or in inpatient Internal Medicine
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state of Florida
  • Current DEA registration and BLS/ACLS certification
  • Strong clinical judgment and diagnostic skills in acute inpatient care
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and colleagues
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site hospital environment
  • Strong collaboration skills within multidisciplinary care teams
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality care, and evidence-based medicine
  • Willingness to work a flexible contract schedule, including possible evenings and weekends
  • Must be board-certified

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive inpatient medical care to hospitalized patients as a Hospitalist
  • Perform thorough admissions, histories, and physical examinations for Internal Medicine patients
  • Develop, implement, and manage individualized treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging studies
  • Coordinate care with specialists, consultants, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Round on assigned patients and monitor clinical progress throughout their stay
  • Manage transitions of care, including admissions and discharge planning
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely in electronic medical records
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and provide urgent clinical intervention
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers regarding treatment plans
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
