About The Position
Overlake Medical Center and Clinics is accepting applications for Hospital Volunteers to support patients, visitors, and the hospital community. Volunteers provide exceptional service through both behind-the-scenes and public-facing assignments. Available assignments depend on hospital needs. Concierge desk volunteers welcome patients, families, and guests; provide information and wayfinding; and assist with transportation when applicable. Transport volunteers escort and transport patients in wheelchairs from admitting to surgery and clinical areas, as well as patients being discharged from units. Clinical unit volunteers support the clinical team by rounding in patient rooms, preparing admission packets, restocking supplies, and helping deliver patient meals. Typical shifts are four hours long and take place between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and evening volunteer assignments are not available.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients, families, and guests and provide information and wayfinding at the concierge desk.
- Assist with transportation when applicable.
- Escort and transport patients in wheelchairs from admitting to surgery and clinical areas, and transport patients being discharged from units.
- Support clinical teams by rounding in patient rooms, preparing admission packets, restocking supplies, and helping deliver patient meals.
