About The Position
Alta View Hospital is seeking unpaid volunteers to help create a warm and welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and caregivers. Volunteers contribute time to Intermountain Healthcare in various roles, helping improve patient experiences and supporting healthcare teams in delivering care. Available roles include Information Desk positions such as greeter, wayfinder, and escort, as well as Pet Therapy Teams. Pet Therapy volunteers must be certified and registered with Intermountain Therapy Animals. The commitment is 80 hours over six months, typically one day per week for three to four hours. Volunteers should ensure this commitment fits their availability and capacity, as consistent attendance is expected. Shifts are typically available Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.; weekend and evening shifts are not available.
Requirements
- Be at least 16 years old; volunteers engaging directly with patients must be at least 18.
- Complete a background check.
- Be fully vaccinated.
- Complete a TB test and immunization check and receive an annual flu vaccine.
- Commit to 80 hours over six months, typically one day per week for three to four hours.
- Pet Therapy Team volunteers must be certified and registered with Intermountain Therapy Animals.
