About The Position

Daniels Health is hiring a Hospital Service Technician to provide medical waste services at Inova Fairfax Hospital. The role involves working directly with hospital staff to exchange medical waste containers safely and on time, ensure proper waste segregation, inspect and service containers in clinical areas, and maintain supplies and orderly staging areas. The technician may enter procedural spaces and work around sensitive equipment and patients.

This is an active, hands-on position involving lifting containers weighing up to 50 pounds and pushing or pulling carts weighing up to 300 pounds throughout the day. The technician uses a company-provided smartphone to manage tasks, report issues, and communicate with the team, while representing Daniels Health professionally. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5 a.m. to 1 p.m., with overtime opportunities. The position is based at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Virginia.

Requirements

• Be physically fit and comfortable with heavy lifting and active, on-the-go work.
• Be able to work as part of a team and independently without direct supervision.
• Have strong attention to detail, especially with paperwork and procedures.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Have a can-do attitude and previous experience in a labor-intensive or logistics role.
• Be vaccinated against COVID-19 due to hospital access requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work with hospital staff to ensure safe and timely medical waste container exchanges and proper segregation.
• Inspect and service Daniels Health containers in clinical areas, including procedural spaces.
• Lift containers weighing up to 50 pounds and push or pull carts weighing up to 300 pounds.
• Maintain container inventory and ensure areas are stocked and organized.
• Use a company-provided smartphone to manage tasks, report issues, and communicate with the team.
• Keep staging areas clean and orderly before and after service.
• Represent Daniels Health with professionalism, positivity, and a strong work ethic.
