About The Position

Labcorp is seeking an onsite Hospital Reference Test Clerk in Macon, Georgia. The clerk performs clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment located at a client office. The role supports accurate laboratory testing through specimen preparation, identification, labeling, and shipment, while addressing customer and specimen issues and helping meet department production goals. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with rotating Saturdays. The position requires comfort handling biological specimens, strong attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and pass a standardized color blindness test.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience in laboratory, accessioning, production, or manufacturing work.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Experience working in a team environment.
Strong data-entry and organizational skills.
High level of attention to detail.
Experience with MS Office.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least 3 years of medical or patient-facing healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing.
Communicate effectively with client office staff.
Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.
Meet department activity and production goals.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Accurately identify and label specimens.
Pack and ship specimens to the appropriate testing facilities.
Review requisitions to ensure samples are prepared and update missing items.
Perform spinning, freezing, splitting, and other special services as needed based on client requirements.
Perform clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting, and data entry onsite at a client office.
