About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Reference Test Clerk to join its team in Charlotte, North Carolina. This role works in a high-volume, production-based environment and performs a vital component of clinical laboratory science. The clerk prepares and processes laboratory specimens, handles specimen-related inquiries and issues, and supports various areas of the laboratory.

The schedule is 4:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, with rotating weekends and holidays and overtime as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Comfort handling biological specimens.
• Ability to accurately identify specimens.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or within a team environment.
• Well organized, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• One year or more of experience in a laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for various analyses and testing.
• Research, troubleshoot, and resolve customer and specimen problems.
• Send test requests to the proper location and release test results.
• Assist clients with specimen-related requests or inquiries.
• Process specimens to be sent to additional facilities.
• Provide support to various areas of the laboratory.
• Sort, rack, and retrieve samples.
• Prepare record logs in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
