About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a PRN Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. The role performs skilled specimen collection, provides customer service to patients, and supports specimen processing and related administrative work. The position is casual/PRN, with typical hours Monday through Friday from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. Employees are required to work two weekends per month; schedules and hours may vary based on business needs. The role may require travel to additional sites and offers opportunities for continued growth within the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification, completion of a training program, or at least 3 months of phlebotomy experience.
• If relying on certification or a training program instead of work experience, it must be from an accredited agency.
• Proven track record of exceptional customer service.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
• Comfort working under minimal supervision.
• Reliable transportation.
• Flexibility to work overtime.
• Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other purposes.
• Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
• Provide superior customer service to patients.
• Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
• Travel to additional sites when needed.
