About The Position

Mercy Health’s Laboratory Department is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw blood samples, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical tasks that help maintain efficient department operations. Duties include order entry, result look-up, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly, helpful manner. The position requires travel to off-site locations.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage professionally with staff and patients.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification.
• One year of phlebotomy experience.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful customer service to patients and the community.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
