About The Position

The Laboratory Department at Lourdes Hospital is seeking a Phlebotomist to draw quality blood samples from patients, prepare specimens for laboratory testing, and complete clerical duties that help the department run efficiently. Responsibilities also include order entry, result look-up, report generation, and responding to internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner. The role requires travel to off-site locations and involves a night shift.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED.
• Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to engage with staff and patients in a professional manner.
• Ability to travel to off-site locations.

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomist certification is preferred but not required.
• One year of phlebotomy experience is preferred but not required.
• Customer service experience in a retail or service environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide respectful customer service to patients and community members.
• Collect specimens from patients according to established procedures and ensure they are properly processed.
• Accurately identify patients and match each patient’s identity with the correct service.
• Enter data and process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing them as requested by test orders.
• Perform clerical duties, including checking inventory, stocking supplies, and answering phones as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
• Perform order entry, result look-up, and report generation.
