About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Hospital Phlebotomist to join its team at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. The role involves collecting and preparing specimens, recording patient information, supporting billing and administrative tasks, and providing customer service. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:30 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., with rotating Saturdays. Travel to additional sites may be needed.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Phlebotomy certification, completion of a training program, or at least three months of phlebotomy experience.
If qualifying through certification or training instead of work experience, the certification or program must be from an accredited agency.
Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
Comfort working under minimal supervision.
Reliable transportation.
Flexibility to work overtime.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of phlebotomy experience.
At least one year of experience in a medical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections using venipuncture and capillary techniques for patients of all age groups.
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other testing.
Enter patient information accurately and in a timely manner.
Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
Prepare collected specimens for testing and analysis.
Maintain patient and specimen information logs.
Provide superior customer service to patients.
Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary.
Travel to additional sites when needed.
